...was conceived as a result of a growing need for a simplified and ethical towing and storage solution. As you are aware many costs incurred are as a result of unnecessary “finder’s fees” and “commissions” which are paid to various entities within the industry. Our research has shown that the average motor vehicle repair price is inflated by over 10% just to cover these extras which provide no benefit to the client whatsoever.
Furthermore, the increased cost of commissions to tow truck drivers has resulted in each accident potentially becoming a very lucrative opportunity for a tow truck driver. Clients are now literally on the front line when competing tow operators fight over the damaged vehicle. We have actual records of clients witnessing tow truck drivers being assaulted and threatened with guns and knives.
Additional difficulties are experienced when trying to get a vehicle released from a repairer who has already outlaid the tow bill and “commissions”. Not only does the repairer endeavour to retain the vehicle on his premises and carry out the repair but he also charges very high release fees in order to cover his expenses.
In short, Motor Storage Solutions aims to provide a cost effective solution to these problems. Umgeni Business Park is the location of our facility. Centrally located and close to all major freeways.
Undercover parking is available for over 200 vehicles and we intend to increase this number as the demand grows. The initial response to our storage facility has been very encouraging and has prompted us to explore in opening other facilities in Johannesburg and Capetown.
